Job description: The Registered Nurse works, in the Surgical Center, as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, using a client centered approach. As a member of the health care team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of patient care within the Surgical Centre. The role encompasses counseling, health teaching and patient advocacy provided in a non-judgmental manner. The role includes all aspects of care for the urology and gynecology patient.
Qualifications
1. Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
2. Completion of a post-diploma nursing courses: Pelvic Assessment of the Adult Woman and Physical Assessment
3. Current BCLS and ACLS certification
4. Demonstrated skills and ability of surgical instruments and equipment
5. Recent with (2 years) relevant experience working in a surgical procedural area.
6. Current certificate in Vascular Access and recent expertise (2 years) in venipuncture skills.
7. Demonstrate ability to work in a fast paced, high turnover environment.
8. Demonstrate interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
9. Demonstrate critical thinking and decision making in assessment and problem identification.
10. Evidence of commitment of professional practice and ongoing education.
