Salary: $33.90 – 48.53 per hour
Hours: 22.5 hours per week; 2 shifts/week

SHEPPARD CENTRE SELF CARE DIALYSIS UNIT (located in Sheppard Centre) ; Willowdale, Ontario) has been in the community for over 30 years under the administration of the University Health Network. Patients are taught to perform some aspects of their dialysis in a positive and relaxed setting. Staff provide support in a supportive teaching environment.
At the assisted self care centre, our philosophy is to encourage patients to develop independence and control over their disease and to assume responsibility for their treatment. We believe that a commitment to assisted self care and dialysis in a non-hospital setting promotes a greater sense of well being and self esteem.We believe that patients play a vital role in the learning process and as such will be treated as individuals with different needs and learning styles. We believe that research and change is essential for sustaining growth. We believe in the multidisciplinary approach and that communication and cooperation is essential to the attainment of the highest level of patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification – current
- Canadian Nephrology Certification (C Neph (c)) preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills
- B.Sc. N. preferred
- Must have minimum 5 years Hemodialysis experience
- Nephrology Nursing Certificate preferred
- Previous patient teaching experience
