Job description: Senior Construction Estimator (High-Rise Residential)

Location: Downtown Toronto

Are you passionate about shaping Toronto’s skyline and working with a reputable self-performing developer on high-rise residential projects?

Our client, a prominent player in the Toronto construction industry, has an immediate need for a skilled and experienced Senior High-Rise Residential Estimator to join their team.

As the Senior Estimator, you will collaborate closely with the Contracts Manager, contributing to the financial success of projects and driving overall project excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage construction budgets for mid-rise and high-rise residential projects,
• Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate estimates,
• Engage in effective oral and written communications with contractors regarding estimates,
• Coordinate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, incorporating it into estimates,
• Oversee the appropriate distribution of documentation upon project award,
• Maintain project files and correspondence, ensuring organized documentation,
• Assist with RFP and General Contract tender submissions,
• Collaborate with Development, Implementation, and Construction teams to ensure project success,
• Foster positive relationships with Project Managers, Consultants, and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience,
• Previous experience in high-rise construction is an asset,
• Proficiency in reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications,
• Site experience,
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office,
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team,
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills,
• Highly organized with a drive for continuous improvement,
• Solid organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
