What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior Trade Finance Analyst is a senior specialist role, responsible for the Standby Letter of Credit and Demand Guarantee products. As a subject matter expert, you will be an integral member of a dynamic, hardworking, production focused team dedicated to the success of CIBC Trade clients on a global basis. The role is located in Toronto and works closely with internal partners in Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, Small Business Banking and Retail Banking.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Demonstrate a keen understanding of Standby Letter of Guarantee, Demand Guarantee, and associated ICC Rules and Regulations i.e. UCP, URGD and ISP. Nice to have good knowledge of Export Letter of Credit and Documentary Collection.
  • Master all aspects of the internal technology platforms i.e. Trade 360 and adhere to the documented operational procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects as assigned; this is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to multi-task while maintaining a professional demeaner in support of CIBC’s stated values of Trust, Teamwork and Accountability.
  • Proactively anticipate client needs and effectively manage client expectations. At CIBC our purpose is to deliver products and services that support our clients’ success.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners across the Bank to ensure the timely and effective delivery of business objectives through proactive consultation and follow-up where necessary.
  • Demonstrate excellent listening, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing is required, and ability to do the same in French would be considered an asset.
  • Industry recognized certifications are recognized and supported; Certified Document Credit Specialist (CDCS) and Certified Specialist in Demand Guarantees (CSDG)
