Health Services – Long Term Care
Various Positions: RNs, RPNs, PSWs, Dietary Aides, Cooks, Maintenance and Facility Persons
Status: Regular Part Time Positions – no guaranteed hours – various shifts through out the week, including every other weekend and holidays. We require a minimum of 4 shifts per pay period. Great opportunity, if coordinating with another part time job
Compensation: As per the collective agreement plus 14% in lieu of benefits
Work Mode and Location: Onsite – Sheridan Villa – 2460 Truscott Drive, Mississauga, ON
The Long-Term Care Division requires staff to provide person-centered care to our residents and families following the Butterfly Philosophy of Care. This will ensure high levels of emotional wellbeing and a better quality of life for those living in our homes. Staff are to have emotional intelligence ability to deliver person-centered care in an authentic way that is meaningful to the resident and their family.
We are looking to fill future opportunities at Sheridan Villa, including * RNs and RPN’s – Reporting to the Director of Care (or designate) you will provide nursing care in accordance with the CNO Standards of Practice, other applicable legislation and policies and procedures of the centre.
Requirements: Current certificate of competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario/Experience in geriatric or long-term care, rehabilitation, medical/surgical, and psychiatric nursing * PSW’s –Reporting to the Director of Care (or designate) you will work with the team to provide emotional and physical comfort, assist with the activities of daily living and maintain our residents units in a clean and tidy fashion.
Requirements: High School Diploma is required/ Personal Support Worker Certificate, graduation from a program whose curriculum has been approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities * Dietary Aides – Prepare food and beverages as per food production schedule and posted menu. Cook simple dishes, pan, tend and remove items from the stove, microwave, retherm cart.
Requirements: High School diploma is required/Food Service Worker Certificate as approved by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s program standards /Must be willing to complete the Food Safety Certification course * Cooks – Prepare, cook and/or plan menu items as per posted menu and food production schedules and directs Dietary Aides in the absence of the supervisor.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent/Graduate of a recognized cooking program from an accredited college or trade school/Must be willing to complete the Food Safety Certification course/Minimum two (2) years’ experience in quantity/batch cooking as well as fine plating presentation in an institutional or commercial kitchen * Facility and Maintenance Persons Perform cleaning and general maintenance duties and repairs/ Pick up garbage and recyclable materials throughout the building/Move furniture and equipment and complete minor renovations as directed/Inspect to ensure that all electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and fire and safety equipment are kept in good condition
