We are seeking a Surveying Student within our Canadian Buildings Division – Toronto District to work on some of the most exciting projects currently underway specifically in the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for students that are available for a minimum of 4 months starting in January 2024.

Here’s how a Surveying Student for our Toronto office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

Contributes to day-to-day layout and grading tasks

Helps monitor quality control in compliance with contract documents

Assists in managing surveying for project layout and conformance

Marks and labels survey points and record field data according to job specifications

Participates in creating and maintaining survey models

Understands coordinate systems, scale factors, design requirements and engineered forming systems

Assists in creating survey notes and recording field data

Qualifications

Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment

Understanding basic surveying principles with a practical approach

Familiar with construction plans such as structural, architectural and shop drawings

Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)

Student must be in a recognized drafting, architectural, engineering or construction management program

Experience with operating total stations and survey equipment/GPS for layout and as-built purposes
