Job description: Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2022 placement with a start date of May 2022, and end-date of August 2022. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2022; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2022), you must require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?
The RBC Corporate Real Estate team manages more than 23 million square feet of real estate in approximately 2,300 locations across the globe. RBC’s real estate portfolio includes several different types of properties including office space, retail stores, client-facing office space, data centers, operations centers and other critical facilities. CRE’s mission is to deliver cost effective real estate solutions that support the strategic goals of RBC’s business units.
The Summer Intern, CRE will assist in providing comprehensive real estate solutions and portfolio strategy that address stakeholder needs. The Summer Intern will work directly with the CRE management team to provide both strategic and tactical advice on the provision of real estate services to the business platforms, balancing business requirements with long term optimal real estate planning. This role will also work cross-functionally across the CRE team.

What will you do?
The RBC Corporate Real Estate group currently implementing a number of leading edge systems to support our business. This includes: Workplace technology solutions, Business Intelligence, AI and Machine Learning and Data Governance. The selected candidate will support the implementation various agile initiatives.
Other responsibilities may include:
- Support the implementation of our business intelligence solutions including analysis, documentation, development, testing and validation
- Support the roll out of our Data Governance program including working with data stewards to approve glossary of terms by subject area, support data quality initiatives and reporting metric
- Support the development of the Machine Learning Lab
- Support team members on any tasks as needed
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree program – Computer Science, Engineering, Finance and/or Mathematics Statistic
- Excellent data and analytics skills and mindset
- Programming fundamentals (Java and Others)
- Logical thinker
- Advanced Excel (functions), SQL (queries), Programming Skills
- Strong communication – written and verbal
Nice-to-have
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau) would be an asset
- Familiarity with Agile Ceremonies and Scrum is a considerable asset
- Experience with Machine learning models and techniques is an asset
