Position Summary:
The Incumbent is responsible for the thermal validation activities for strategic capital projects within the Toronto Engineering & Technical Services Organization. This position is required to support along the project the engineering & maintenance team and manage the thermal validation and decontamination activities. This position will be responsible for interfacing with different stakeholders to ensure the system with thermal treatment where adhering to established regulatory compliance requirements. The incumbent is also responsible for developing appropriate organization and tasks to satisfy the needs of internal customers in accordance with company guidelines and procedures, and within budget and schedule commitments.
Major Responsibilities:
Actively engage in all team responsibilities, including workstream meetings, planning and scheduling meetings, and any related project requirements.
Management of work group: Provide direct/indirect leadership and management of the teams. Supervise the specialists in the most effective and efficient manner to ensure the timely completion of assignments. Ensure work is completed in a manner, which complies with “Best Practices”.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain documentation practices to track all work history and improve data analysis.
Work with Engineering, Production and Quality to ensure optimal Thermal / Decontamination treatment
Support and assist commissioning of equipment and services as requested by engineering.
Supervise all of thermal validation for strategic project activities.
Build with the stakeholders the thermal validation program (periodic activities, annual shutdown…).
Perform the thermal validation for project related requirements (Autoclave and VHP loads, Sterilization & Decontamination).
Assist Quality/MTech department in Validation equipment and systems as requested.
Education & Experience:
Minimum Bachelor degree in Sciences Engineering
5-10 years of experience in thermal validation & decontamination. Additional experience in construction/installation, equipment start-up, qualification and/or validation is mandatory.
Working knowledge of process and critical utilities equipment
Working knowledge of unit operations typically used in biotech and vaccine manufacturing such as bulk manufacturing, downstream operations, formulation, steaming (SIP) and cleaning (CIP)
Must understand the relationship between Good Manufacturing Practices, industry standards and their application to the manufacturing process.
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external team members is essential.
Strong analytical skills (engineering analysis)
Leading and guidance of different trades in a construction environment, hands-on troubleshooting skills and the capability to utilize AutoCAD, analysis software and company quality system software.
