Position Title: Transportation Supervisor
Team & Location: Distribution – Mississauga, ON

Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is supervising Distribution functions involved in the movement of more than 2.0 BL of clean fuels across Ontario. The focus is on ensuring safety, meeting service level expectations, and developing a high-functioning Distribution Dispatch Team while also coordinating with brokers, dispatch operations, and overflow carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring Broker and Dispatch operations are supervised to prevent incidents (injuries, near misses, spills, mixes, property damage, etc.), and to minimize Parkland liability in the event of an incident and oversee incident response activities with the support of Parkland HSE
- Effective distribution of products to Retail, Commercial and Wholesale businesses in Ontario. Supervise service levels, costs, and internal charges. Execute daily, weekly, and monthly lift direction to ensure contractual supply nominations are met. Manage Broker activities during supply shortages to ensure optimal lifting and distribution of all available products. This involves close collaboration with division management to understand business priorities. Support the execution of supply arbitrage opportunities
- Coach, mentor and develop the Dispatchers to ensure success. Supervise resource requirements and delegate responsibilities accordingly. Provide support and guidance for ongoing professional development. Provide back-up for dispatch vacation and illness
- Lead and administer the Dispatch and GPS program software. This includes MDM for drivers, equipment, loading badge and site information. Ensure driver, equipment, site constraints and hazards are updated in the Dispatch systems and alerts are set up properly. Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure safety and service levels are maintained or exceeded and work with the manager and take corrective actions as needed. Administration and oversight of the truck tablets (track, troubleshoot, update, order replacements
- Schedule and supervise Fleet Maintenance for the Parkland owned equipment, including measuring, and tracking costs per liter, cost per kilometer and provide recommendations on equipment needs and budgeting. Update terminal systems with Parkland owned equipment and support the brokers in updating driver certification information
- Supporting the FOP team to reduce errors and manual transactions, including those caused by carriers and wasteful internal processes. Other duties as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years Industry related experience (Transportation and logistics knowledge)
- Previous experience supervising a team
- Knowledge of TDG, CFA regulations, Spill Response Guidelines, WHMIS.
- Understanding of refinery terminal loading processes.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- College Diploma or University Degree would be an asset.
- Prior experience working for a transportation or logistics company would be an asset.
- Parkland JDE system knowledge: LIFT, TCM, Badge management, and JDE transportation module
- Proficient use of MS Office
