Join Our Energetic Team Starting This Spring at ATCO Gas: Temporary Utility Operator Positions Available!

Salary: Starting rate is $29.21 per hour

Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Areas

Duration: Approximately 6 – 9 Months

ATCO Gas is excited to welcome enthusiastic individuals to our Utility Operator Program. This unique role will involve working in one of several critical areas: Operations, Service, Maintenance, Construction, or Meter Shop.

What you Get to Do:

Depending on your area of assignment, your responsibilities may include:

• Monitoring and controlling gas flows for performance and reliability.
• Conducting installations, disconnections, inspections, and addressing customer service inquiries.
• Performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on utility equipment.
• Assisting in utility infrastructure construction and adherence to project specifications.
• Managing meter-related activities including calibration, testing, and installation.
• Operate a range of equipment and tools safely and proficiently.
• Respond to emergencies, ensuring a safe and continuous supply of gas to our customers.

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Alberta Class ‘5’ Driver’s License with a clean driver abstract (less than 6 demerits)
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment testing: including background checks and drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the willingness to learn.
• Mechanical aptitude.
