Job description: Assiniboine Park Conservancy is seeking a Visitor Services Representative (VSR) who will report to the Manager, Visitor & Retail Services. This VSR will work primarily at the Pavilion location, however, may be scheduled at the main gate depending on operational requirements. The VSR ensures extraordinary member and visitor experiences by directly selling APC’s offerings and services to visitors in person and by telephone. This position is part-time, shifts will include days during the week and on weekends, and may include evenings for scheduled events.

Responsibilities:

• Actively promote and sell Park offerings and services including memberships, donations, programs, and merchandise.
• Register and track members and program attendance, invoices and payments, maintain a database and generate reports.
• Maintain knowledge of all marketing promotions, initiatives and special events and provide assistance when required i.e. coupons or discounts.
• Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle visitor inquiries, complaints and how to direct them as necessary.
• Rent out and maintain strollers and electric scooters, clean throughout the shift as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a high school diploma or must be enrolled in high school.
• A minimum of one year of experience providing direct customer sales and service in a hospitality or retail environment.
• Candidates must have excellent proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office
• Candidates must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
• Available to work a flexible schedule that will include weekdays, weekends, holidays and some

Considered an asset:

• Prior experience or training with Gateway Galaxy ticketing systems.
• A valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Fluent in French or an additional language would be an asset.

Need to demonstrate:

• Candidates must demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, sales, and customer service skills for maintaining respectful working relationships with fellow employees and providing extraordinary experiences to visitors both in person and by telephone.
• Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities while attending to details and maintaining a sales and exceptional customer service focus.

Successful candidates may be subject to Criminal Record Checks.
