Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Workplace Health Field Services Coordinator to join the Safety and Prevention team in Vancouver, BC.
As a Workplace Health Field Services Coordinator you will:
- Provide leadership and guidance to designated staff and coordinate delivery of immunizations to clients throughout the region.
- Travel daily including setting up and take down of mobile Employee Health Clinics, participating in programs associated with employee health surveillance and maintenance programs and health teaching.
- Draw up vaccine dosage from multi and/or single dose vials, administer to clients, monitor for any adverse reactions, and perform venipuncture/s for serology testing.
- Complete all necessary documentation.
- Facilitate efficient scheduling and service delivery and ensure exceptional customer service.
- Ensure a high standard of care by acting as a clinical resource for staff, supporting staff training and development, and provides supervision, leadership and support to the team.
- Assist the Manager with performing administrative activities and ensuring optimal use of resources.
- Consult, confer and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, educational resources, and other health care professionals/providers to achieve excellence in service, education and research.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Three (3) years’ recent, related experience in occupational or public health including one (1) year’s related administrative/supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Registration or eligibility for registration as a Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) is preferred.
Completion of BCCDC Immunization Course for Registered Nurses and RPNs or equivalent.
Must hold a valid British Columbia Driver’s License as local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with the Nurses’ Bargaining Association’s Collective Agreement.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of BCCDC guidelines for immunization for health care workers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the BCCNM standards for nursing practice.
- Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, supervision, work direction and consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate and coach.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours Evenings and Weekend shifts will be required.
- Demonstrated ability to competently operate a personal computer and related software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and WHITE.net, with a minimum typing speed of 35 wpm.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with various stakeholders including employees, managers, directors, senior executive, unions, Worksafe BC,
- Medical Health Officers and others.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to unexpected events, problem-solve, set priorities and deal with conflict.
- Demonstrated skill in CPR techniques.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
