The Registrar’s Office staff are committed to strong service excellence in supporting the academic and registrarial needs of current undergraduate, graduate and professional master’s students. These services include advising and administration as it relates to registration, financial need, scholarships & awards, and graduation. In addition, the Registrar’s Office is responsible forrecruitment and admissions of prospective students, administration of experiential learning opportunities (international, research, in-field learning courses), scheduling of academic courses and exams and providing faculty support. The staff in the Office work collectively toward enhancing the student experience while being committed to operating under principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Registrar & Director of Student Services, the Assistant Registrar, Student Experience and Experiential Education contributes to the administration and development of experiential learning opportunities and professional placements for both the undergraduate Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKIN) and graduate level Master of Professional Kinesiology (MPK) programs within the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education. In addition, the incumbent manages the KINections program, which is an initiative of the KPE Registrar’s Office, supporting students in all programs (BKin, MSc, PhD and MPK). Working collaboratively with KPE student groups and campus partners, KINections activities are organized around themes such as mentorship, health and wellness, community engagement, global citizenship and career development with an intentional focus on equity, diversity and inclusion woven throughout all activities. The Assistant Registrar, Student Experience & Experiential Education, coordinates and administers development of KINections program activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing day-to-day operational needs and service delivery requirements of programs
- Analyzing potential experiential learning opportunities to determine suitability with student academic learning objectives
- Implementing plans that support the development of work-integrated learning opportunities for students
- Evaluating and recommending appropriate work-integrated learning opportunities for students
- Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
- Fostering and maintaining positive relations with stakeholders to support student placement activities
- Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
- Directing a small group in a limited area, including responsibility for scheduling and/or workflow
+Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a in a relevant discipline or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of related working experience in student placements and experiential education
- Minimumfive (5) years of related working experience in student services, working with student organizations, and student and program coordination, preferably within a post-secondary institution
- Experience with the creation and delivery of educational workshops and one-on-one support services
- Demonstrated experience developing, coordinating and evaluating programming and activities for post-secondary students
- Strong experiential background working with diverse student communities and a commitment to improving and enhancing the student experience
- Experience supervising and training casual staff and students
- Experience working on multiple projects with competing deadlines; advanced project coordination and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with people from different backgrounds and at all levels of the organization.
- Must demonstrate strong professionalism; good judgment and tact; strong organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to implement, coordinate and follow-up on multiple projects; ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and take initiative; and a demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, administrators, alumni and external contacts.

- Familiarity with issues in the health care, physical education and professional kinesiology fields
