Part of the LCI Education network, LaSalle College is the largest bilingual college in North America. It is comprised of six specialized schools, including Fashion, Arts and Design; VFX and Video Games; Humanities and Social Sciences; Management and Technology; and Hospitality and Tourism, as well as an online training school, and offers more than 60 programs related to these schools.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the School Director, your main responsibilities will be:
- Identify needs, recruit and assign teaching staff;
- Participate in the pedagogical, methodological and logistical support of the teaching staff;
- Allocate the human and material resources necessary to carry out teaching and student supervision activities and ensure their proper functioning;
- Ensure that the tasks of the personnel are in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions and the collective agreement;
- Ensure compliance with the policies, directives and regulations in effect, in particular the PIEA, which governs the delivery of courses and the evaluation of learning, the admission regulations and the various rules of conduct required of students;
- Collaborate with the various internal (human resources, communications, academic management, etc.) and external (MESRS) departments and authorities;
- Ensure the quality and continuous improvement of the services offered and contribute to the external influence of the programs;
- Participate in the development, implementation or evaluation of programs of study, success plans and/or institutional policies, under the supervision of the Director of Studies;
- Contribute to the preparation and implementation of the action plan for the program teams;
- Contribute to the establishment and respect of academic calendars (competencies, number of hours, exam dates) as well as internal procedures;
- Collaborate in the continuous improvement of the processes related to teaching in general;
- Assist in the organization and coordination of specific activities and events carried out by program teachers (e.g.: theme nights, events, competitions, final projects, etc.);
- Plan and manage research and development (R&D) activities carried out by teachers.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in the education or training sector.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
- Experience in personnel management (an asset in managing teachers in a college or university environment, in a unionized environment).
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
- Excellent oral and written skills in French and English;
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT);
- Be structured, rigorous and detail-oriented;
- Have the spirit of initiative;
- Demonstrate leadership skills;
- Good communication skills.
