The Lieutenant Governor is the personal representative in the province of the Queen in Canada. As such, the position is not only the Chief Executive Officer of the government but is also the embodiment of the Crown in British Columbia.

The Office of the Lieutenant Governor and Government House itself is multi-dimensional, supporting several distinct lines of business including constitutional and international protocol matters, ceremonial and hospitality events, and the management and maintenance of Government House as a National Historic Site.

The Office of the Lieutenant Governor is managed and maintained by staff and others, who coordinate constitutional, ceremonial, protocol, diplomatic, administrative, and operational activities at Government House and other locations.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Hospitality Services Manager is responsible for managing, planning, and organizing the operational delivery of housekeeping operations, accommodation, services, and hosting of special events at Government House.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience working in hospitality, housekeeping, catering, or other relevant service-related industries.
  • Experience managing staff in a hotel and / or event environment.
  • Experience managing, organizing and / or leading large-scale events.
  • Experience in developing and / or using systems to manage the event planning process.
  • Experience managing the service operations for large groups and high-profile guests.

Preference may be given to candidates with: * Food Safe Level 1 and / or Serving it Right certifications.

  • More years of experience in the statements above.

PROVISOS:

  • This position requires work outside and not limited to normal core business hours. Some evening and weekend work will be required to accommodate the requirements of the Lieutenant Governor and events at Government House.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class 5 B.C.’s driver’s license.
