Job description: WORK ILLUSTRATION:
Reporting to the Lead, Business Solutions, the IT Client Consultant works in collaboration with the business to translate functional business needs into requirements for Information Technology systems. As a business enabler and service provider, the IT Client Consultant will assist in the identification of effective business solutions to meet the business goals of the organization and recommend business process redesigns which maximize efficiencies and align with operational goals for the organization.
The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.
Successful candidates must possess the following competencies and will be pre-screened for those bolded, prior to the interview portion of the selection process. Competencies are listed in order of significance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies and analyzes business needs, conducts requirements gathering, and defines scope and objectives for assigned Information Technology Systems and/ or projects
- Coordinates the implementation of Information Technology Systems to meet client needs
- Creates and maintains documentation and procedures to support IT Systems and Processes
- Prepares business presentations and reports in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word and communication with stakeholders
- Packages business cases for new systems by summarizing current state of the business process, business problem/ opportunity, evaluation of options to achieve future state, costs / benefits assessment and recommendation for a new system
- Performs administrative routines associated with the position
COMPETENCIES:
- Post-secondary Degree/ Diploma (University or College)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience relevant to specific operational area
- Relevant professional certifications and consulting experience
- Well versed in the application of Information Technology to work management, business processes and solutions
- Strategic and analytical thinking
