Responsibilities
Reporting to an IM/IT Director of IT Security, Risk Management and Digital Infrastructure, the IM/IT Security and Risk Manager oversees a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of initiatives and programs throughout the province as the organization moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOR strategy. This position supports the analysis, classification, and response to cybersecurity risks within an organization and has a solid understanding of enterprise security architecture. The IM/IT Security and Risk Manager addresses cybersecurity risk and analyses the potential business and customer risk, aligning processes and controls to the relevant frameworks and internal systems. The IM/IT Security and Risk Manager works with their team to collaborate with key clinical and business stakeholders throughout the province as the organization, in partnership with the province’s Internal Services Department and the Department of Health and Wellness, moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOR strategy.
This position will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide support across the organization to leverage IT applications in support of the NSHA’s and its clients’ strategic mission, vision and goals. - Coordination of resources and stakeholders
- Managing timelines and milestones
- Documenting outcomes
- Monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of activities to the appropriate leadership team members
- Ensuring that all activities within their responsible area are supported by the NSHA IM/IT business plan, established policies/procedures, and in line with service level agreements between NSHA, IWK, Nova Scotia Digital Services and the NS Department of Health
- Functioning in a senior subject matter expert role within the team
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree is required (consideration may be given to those with equivalent education, training and work experience)
- Master’s degree is an asset (particularly in health administration, leadership, or business administration)
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years’ leadership experience with IM/IT services, programs and applications is required
- Experience as a Security Analyst, Risk Analyst or Enterprise Architecture – Security Architect preferred
- Certified Health Executive (CHE) and/or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) designation is considered an asset
- Certification in the following considered an asset:
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or organizational change management certification is considered an asset
- Experience supporting business application systems (e.g. SAP, scheduling, time, workforce management systems) and related services in a complex health care organizational environment is considered an asset
- Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to execute through effective delegation, motivation and oversight
- Experience in data analytics
- Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal, written communication and influencing skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
