Job description: Your role at a glance:
You’re passionate about computers, and you have extensive experience in the field? You’re bilingual and looking for a career that will allow you to put your knowledge to good use while acting as an expert? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you within the IT Support team.
As an IT Support technician, you will be in charge of resolving all hardware and software issues for employees working from home through phone calls, emails and tickets. This is the perfect role for anyone who is passionate about technology and has the patience and interpersonal skills to convey technical concepts.
Here’s what your day will look like
In this role, you will:
- Provide various software installation support on computers and laptops;
- Resolve technical problems regarding hardware, operating systems, software and network issues;
- Create or disable user accounts and coordinate end-user access to systems.
- Grant access to printers, share drives and configure any VPN and Token issues;
- Perform basic network troubleshooting to verify connectivity to various systems.
Here’s what you need to join the team:
- Bilingualism (English or French), a prerequisite;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written – Thanks to your empathetic and courteous nature, you are able to explain technical terms in a clear and concise manner that puts the end-user at ease.
- Experience in a technical support role or troubleshooting technical issues, an asset
- Previous experience in a call center and/or work from home environment, an asset;
- Ability to work according to a variable work schedule that reflects the current needs of the business (evenings, weekends and holidays) and to work overtime, when required;
- Excellent knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows 10;
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Experience working with the following is considered an asset:
- TCP/IP protocol;
- IP telephony;
- Anti-virus and encryption solutions;
- VPN and Token solutions
- Reside nearby a Nordia centre – This position allows to work 100% from home, but you can also work on site if you desire.
