The University of Alberta Hospital Campus Rehabilitation & Allied Health program is seeking a self-motivated, detail oriented individual that exhibits excellent customer service and enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds. The UAH Campus is one of Canada’s leading clinical, research, and teaching hospitals, treating more than 700,000 patients annually from western and northern Canada. The hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services, including specialized adult services within Cardiac Sciences, Neurosciences, Surgery, Medicine, Orthopedics, Renal, Critical Care, Burns, Transplants and Trauma inpatient programs, as well as, a vast number of ambulatory clinics such as Cystic Fibrosis, Plastic Surgery, Blood Disorders and Neuromuscular Disease. This position is part of the centralized Rehabilitation and Allied Health Program and is responsible for providing reception, booking and administrative support to patients and clinical staff primarily in the ambulatory care programs of the UAH Campus. The Admin III provides first point of contact for patients and families, providing reception duties, registration, scheduling, booking, billing and other duties, as required. A high degree of attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellence in customer service is mandatory. Maintenance of constructive working relationships and effective lines of communication with members of the public and the health care team is an expectation. Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:
Formal education in medical office administration. Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. Proficiency in Connect Care. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Excellence in verbal and written communication skills. Excellence in customer service. Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of experience working in an acute care hospital setting in an administrative/clerical role is preferred. Knowledge and experience working within Connect Care, including booking, registration, and templates.
