Job description: Your Opportunity:
Working within a collaborative team environment, this Administrative Support IV – Pension Assistant position is recognized as a key role in HR Shared Services to effectively administer pension policies, contracts, programs and procedures. The incumbent is expected to provide administrative support across Alberta Health Services in matters that are critical for the timely and accurate processing and administration of the pension plans. The incumbent is also responsible for participating in executing and supporting the team’s quality assurance processes, reconciliations, and audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy. They provide a high level of customer service to employees, colleagues and team members, and other internal stakeholders. As part of the Pension Administration team, they will have the knowledge and ability to perform daily processing tasks related to retirements, terminations, enrolments, buybacks and other legislated and policy driven requirements. They will also have the ability to perform tasks related to pension Year End processing, record correction, reconciliation and audits. Trouble shoot anomalies and ensure complex or unusual pension issues, as well as decisions requiring changes to establish policies, regulations, or processes, are escalated to the Pension Senior Advisor. Contribute and participate on projects/teams relating to system implementation or upgrades, and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of pension administration. Communicates and interacts with the Pension Administration team, and other HRSS teams to ensure business processes are aligned.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields. Additional Required Qualifications:
Previous experience working with defined pension plans either in PeopleSoft or other HR Information System is required. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is also required with proficiency in excel functions (i.e. VLOOKUP). Preferred Qualifications:
Strong analytical, problem solving and issue resolution skills, along with strong math skills is an asset. Ability to function independently in a high demand, multi-tasking environment is beneficial. Working towards a CEBS designation is an asset.
