Northwood is currently accepting applications for a full time, term Administrative Assistant, Human Resources.
Qualifications:
- Community College Diploma; a one year administrative or business course
- 1 year of relevant work experience
- Advanced Excel training/skills required
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
- Knowledge of computer software required
- Proficiency in keyboarding (50 words per minute) required
- Experience in database creation considered an asset
- Knowledge of office equipment (e.g. photocopier, fax machine) required
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis according to Northwood’s corporate standard
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to the Corporate Director, People Services and the Human Resources team in the areas of compensation,benefits, recruitment and employee relations
- Performs routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, and organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files
- Provides administrative support for projects related to HR software implementation and maintenance
- Provides front line HR administrative support to staff, managers, job candidates and members of the public
- Inputs and maintains data for various HR initiatives (e.g. exit interviews, new hire surveys, etc.)
- Maintains inventory control of supplies and office equipment
- Coordinates and arranges maintenance of office equipment (e.g., photocopier, computers, printers, phones, etc.)
- Manages and maintains indicator tracking within the department
- Maintains general correspondence (e.g., filing, copying)
- Completes monthly mailouts to new hires and others as needed
- Performs other duties as required
Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly
