Job title: Instructor, Yukon Native Teacher Education Program

Job description: Yukon University is seeking a dynamic educator for the Yukon Native Teacher Education Program (YNTEP). YNTEP is a Bachelor of Education program credentialed by University of Regina and delivered fully through YukonU, with an emphasis on teaching in rural, Yukon First Nation communities. We are looking for educators who are passionate about culturally responsive teaching practices, the decolonization and Indigenization of pedagogy, and enacting Yukon First Nations educational priorities. The instructor will also bring current best practices in teacher education, Indigenous education, and teaching and learning in a postsecondary environment into the program.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s or doctorate in Education, Indigenous Education, Indigenous Studies, Teacher Education, Indigenous Teacher Education, or a related field. Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and cultural diversity theory and practice in the delivery of educational programming are required. A valid driver’s license is also required.
