The role

Shaw Cablesystems, Business is currently seeking a Strategic Account Representative, Hospitality to join their team. This position reports directly into the Manager, SMB Sales and is a blend of hospitality portfolio management and hunter duties. The successful candidate will be accountable for selling our full suite of managed services, TV, voice, data and internet products. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with decision makers, managers, and business owners.

A typical day

  • Strong skill set and comfortable with cold calling, door knocking and tele prospecting for new business
  • Strong skill set in customer facing meetings, conducting presentations and board room style meetings

Sell our full suite of voice, data and internet products to small and medium businesses.

  • Establish and maintain strong and trusting relationships with Business owners, managers and/or IT decision makers through personal contact and superior customer service.
  • Identify and analyze our clients’ business requirements, propose potential solutions, negotiate and close new business revenues.
  • Design and implement sales and marketing strategies, optimizing market potential in multiple business locations.
  • Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales objectives for Shaw Business services both contracted and uncontracted.
  • Managing a multi-million dollar portfolio, including business retention through contract renewals, and obtaining share of wallet growth within the portfolio.
  • Within Shaw, Coordinate the activities between planning, operations, and other regions to support the implementation of local and national opportunities.
  • Identify and monitor measures to overcome competitive activities within our market
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly sales reporting as well as detailed analysis of sales funnel.
  • Promote Shaw in a positive and professional manner.
  • Various other duties as required.

Your skills/experience

  • 3-5 years B2B selling experience within the SMB market with an emphasis in the area of telecommunications and/or other technical related fields.
  • Proven track record of attaining and/or exceeding sales targets

Telecommunications experience will be considered a significant asset

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, commerce or related technical field.
  • Goal oriented, self-motivator with the ability to work independently as well as with others.
  • Ability to develop complex technical proposals and present to all levels in clients’ organization.
  • Relationship management experience with key decision makers including business and property owners is an asset.
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles effectively and proactively.
  • Knowledge of Shaw’s Managed Services and deployment environments an asset
  • Working knowledge of day-to-day operations of the hotels along with facilities and property management procedures a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • A positive “can do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity.
  • A proven track record of collaborating with peers and working with cross functional teams to achieve success
  • Responsible for completing all renewal contract by the end of each month
  • Responsible for touching base with each account at least once per quarter
  • Responsible for attending weekly / monthly national Hospitality calls
