About the Role:

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Project Manager, Commercial is responsible for maintaining all contract documents, tracking all contractual related issues, and developing clear and concise contract project claim record. The incumbent will also maintain, track, and develop project specific documents to defend or assert contractual claims. Overall, the Project Manager, Commercial will oversee management and coordination of the contractual obligations of a major and complex project that has a life span of several years.

As a Project Manager at Graham, you will:

  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site project personnel to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implementing corrective measures.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interests and maintain good relationships with client.
  • Ensuer that the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Contribute, as appropriate, to the pre-award process of determining project scope, planning and estimating.
  • Review and negotiate contracts; liaising with legal counsel, as appropriate, in conjunction with Department Manager.
  • Monitor and control progress, costs and budgets throughout the project.
  • Advise the Department Manager on project status and results in a timely fashion.
  • Reviewing each project’s progress with the project staff as the project proceeds.
  • Act to resolve disputes between the Company and owner, or Company and subcontractors.
  • Identify required and optional changes in project scope; negotiating change orders with the owner.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Four-year engineering or business degree (or Quantity Surveyor Degree)
  • Demonstrable experience in relevant construction disciplines along with contract management experience
  • Strong knowledge of both contract administration (accounting) and the principles of purchasing, finance, estimating, engineering and project controls
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Some understanding of Contract Law, CCDC or FIDIC
  • Advanced understanding of Excel spreadsheets
  • Basic understanding of Primavera
  • Working knowledge of Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
