JOB SUMMARY
Overall, the Senior IT Security, Risk & Compliance Analyst is tasked with the protection of AGLC information assets from a confidentiality, integrity and availability perspective. This position is responsible to identify, assess, monitor, detect, investigate, research, and respond to threats and incidents impacting the security of information assets.
Reporting to the Manager, IT Security, Risk & Compliance; this position is responsible for managing IT security programs for AGLC and to provide mentorship to the IT Security, Risk & Compliance team. This position acts for the Manager, IT Security, Risk & Compliance on a regular basis, and works closely with all other IT teams with information security responsibilities.
This position represents elevated accountability and a leading authority for AGLC and the Government of Alberta comprehensive IT security, risk & compliance approach and posture; recommending, developing, and ensuring compliance with security strategy, policy and standards.
This position requires strong technical knowledge of information security architecture practices and Microsoft Azure security best practice. Advanced competency in risk analysis and compliance testing, system vulnerability assessments, security policy development. Working knowledge from a technical perspective of IT security management standard ISO 27001, rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentiality.
You must have the ability to work independently or under minimal supervision and possess well developed communications, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, project management, and supervisory skills. Overall, the role’s responsibilities would break down on a weekly basis to approximately 60% governance, 30% compliance/audit, and 10% M365/Azure security operations.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Minimum of a University Degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus 5 years related experience; or equivalent as described below.
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressive leadership in significant and complex IT security projects or supervisory experience.
Note: If you do not have any of these certifications you are expected to work toward achieving one or more of CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, or approved equivalent.
