The Linux system administrator is tasked with the management and optimization of IT infrastructures, with a focus on automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This position requires skills in Linux system administration, along with a strong understanding of DevOps practices to ensure efficient and reliable IT service delivery.

In this role, you will work closely with various IT infrastructure teams. The selected individual will report to the Director of IT Infrastructure.

This position requires skills in Linux system administration, along with a strong understanding of DevOps practices to ensure efficient and reliable IT service delivery.

In this role, you will work closely with various IT infrastructure teams. The selected individual will report to the Director of IT Infrastructure.

Your role

Linux System Administration: Manage, monitor, and maintain Linux servers, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. Install, configure, and update Linux operating systems and related software. Participate in 24/7 support (on rotation)

Automation: Design, develop, and maintain scripts and automation tools to simplify administrative tasks, application deployment, and infrastructure management. Use tools such as Ansible or shell scripts to automate repetitive processes.

Application Deployment and Management: Collaborate with development teams to automate application deployment, using technologies such as Docker containers, Kubernetes, or other relevant tools. Ensure efficient management of development, testing, and production environments.

Monitoring and Issue Resolution: Proactively monitor systems and applications to identify and promptly resolve issues. Set up notification mechanisms for alerts.

Security: Implement best security practices to protect the infrastructure and data. Conduct regular security audits and apply necessary patches.

Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of procedures and configurations, enabling team members to easily reference information.

The qualifications we are looking for

Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a medium to large-scale IT company as a Linux system administrator.

Possess a strong background in Linux system administration (Ubuntu, OEL, Red Hat, etc.).

Have practical knowledge of AIX operating systems (a plus).

Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Possess a deep understanding of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, etc.

Have scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.).

Exhibit the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.

Have knowledge of computer security and patch management.

Possess practical knowledge of Azure cloud (a plus).

Be capable of planning and organizing work.

Demonstrate initiative and leadership qualities.
