Reporting to the Administrative Officer, the incumbent will provide coordination for the School’s course-based masters programs. In addition to being responsible for program operational administration, the incumbent will advise students on program requirements, program progression, impact of leaves, course of action on University guidelines, and other academic supports. They will act as a resource for inquiries from prospective students related to the various programs and will provide guidance to in-course students. They will develop recruitment and marketing material and be responsible for all social media. Other duties will include serving on and chairing academic program committees, organizing meetings for admission reviews, assisting with admissions, changes or updates to programs. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and statistics (including excel records) for all students in SEDRD graduate programs.
The incumbent will be responsible for coordination of internship courses in the school. They will facilitate the offering of the courses including advising students on placements, maintaining CourseLink websites, conducting assessments and be responsible for all other administrative activities required for the course offerings. They will also be responsible for experiential and Field visit coordination in the school.
The incumbent will also assist with SEDRD’s digital and technical needs including the management of the Digital Media Lab, field investigation equipment, technical advising to student-run plotter/print shop and other administrative/facilities management.
Requirements of the position include: 2 years relevant work experience in program management, or recruitment & marketing and an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Membership/registration within a provincial professional association or technical affiliate supporting landscape architecture, design, or planning would be an asset. Candidates must demonstrate: understanding of the graduate student policies and procedures; initiative; attention to detail; strong organizational skills; working knowledge of email, Microsoft Office software (Excel), classroom and online technology (including Zoom, Teams, and AV systems), photocopier/scanners, large-format printers and plotters; dependability; the ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team; strong written and oral communication skills; and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high volume time constrained environment. Experience working in an academic department; experience with University graduate programs and policies is an asset.
