Job title: Central Registration Clerk

Job description: To work as part of the Patient Access – Central Registration support team which includes but is not limited to the following duties: patient reception, registration, waiting room management and assisting the various registration pods with break/lunch/absence coverage. The Registration Team is committed to following registration, safety and data quality best practices. Liaises with Volunteers, Logistic Attendants and Clinic staff to ensure patient registration and safe way-finding needs are met. Supports and adheres to the RVH Vision, Mission and Values in Action.

As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:

  • Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Two-year Medical Office Administration Diploma
  • One to Two years in a similar role
  • Data entry experience
  • Medical terminology required

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Patient registration and reception
  • Ability to prioritize and function effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
  • Physically capable of performing position requirements (standing/sitting/reaching/assisting wheelchair patients)
  • Collaborates and engages in a team environment
  • Promote a safe and positive environment

You are ideal for this position if you have:

  • Customer Service skills (e.g. empathy, active listening, conflict resolution)
  • Confidence and patience dealing with public while multi-tasking
  • Professional business and telephone mannerisms required
  • Excellent and effective communication with various types of personalities with varying stages of physical and mental health/aging/capabilities.

Computer competencies including: * MEDITECH (Patient Care System) patient registration and scheduling modules

  • Savience Clarity (Check-In/Wait Room System)
  • Microsoft Teams/Office/Outlook – managing chats, e-mail, meeting requests, calendars
  • Internet skills to effectively & efficiently navigate various websites to assist with collecting accurate provider information
