Education Coordinator

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Research Operations, the Education Coordinator is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the trainee experience at the CancerCare Manitoba Research Institute (CCMR). The primary responsibilities for this position involve: coordinating CCMR training sessions, awards, and symposiums; assisting with trainee recruitment and orientation; developing and maintaining the trainee webpage; and providing social media updates.
The Education Coordinator will provide coverage and support to the Administer Officer, Research Institute where required. The Education Coordinator sill also support the Research Review Impact Committee.
The Education Coordinator will work collaboratively and cooperatively with all staff, other departments, and external agencies; and, must be capable of carrying out all duties with diplomacy, tact, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution; Bachelor of Sciences preferred.
- Minimum one year work experience in an office environment; work in a health or research environment preferred.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must have satisfactory employment record.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science
- Experience organizing, coordinating, and assisting with leading education and training programs
- Strong experience with social media platforms and websites.
- Experience working with learning management systems.
- Knowledge of other research trainee programs in Canada.
Asset:
- Ability to speak French.
Salary: Non-Union
