Projects & Education Coordinator

Community Oncology Program – MacCharles

Job Summary:

The Projects and Education Coordinator is a member of the Community Oncology Program and is responsible for coordinating, implementing and evaluating educational programs and projects aimed at enhancing capacity and engagement of healthcare professionals working in Cancer Surgery, and in Oncology across Manitoba. This position reports to the Education and Community Relations Manager and works closely with the Cancer Surgery Engagement and Education Coordinator.

The Projects and Education Coordinator position is responsible for coordinating engaging sessions with stakeholders to identify action items to advance the priorities of the MB Surgical Oncology Framework, and the Roadmap to Cancer Control in Manitoba. Additionally, this position supports and coordinates the implementation and ongoing quality control clinical processes involving transitions in care.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Baccalaureate degree in a health care related field is required. A combination of related education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in coordinating and implementing educational programs for adult learners.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in project coordination
  • Ability to work in several projects simultaneously
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders
  • Must be able to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all levels of staff and the general public
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: excel, word, power point, outlook
  • Experience working with web-based communications such as Teams and Zoom
  • Ability to travel
  • Must have suitable access to a reliable vehicle and valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Evening and weekend work may be required
  • Must hold a satisfactory employment record
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of health equity and how it impacts patient care, experience and outcomes

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
  • Certificate in adult education
  • Experience in the health care environment
  • Experience in planning educational programs for healthcare providers
  • Experience in writing grants and reports to funding agencies

Asset:

  • Master’s degree in a health-related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of qualitative and quantitative program evaluation
  • Experience working in and with communities and understanding of the rural health care environment
  • Familiarity with the cancer patient journey

Salary: Non-Union
