Role:
Our Client is currently seeking an experienced #301168 IT Business Analyst (Contract) for a 12-month contract in Winnipeg, MB starting December 2021. The work may be completed remotely but the resource must reside in Winnipeg for the duration of the project. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst gathering business requirements, facilitating sessions, and documenting/communicating business requirements. Experience (5yrs) with conducting process assessments, and writing use cases/text scripts is a requirement. Must have (3) years of experience leading, training, and mentoring other business analysts. Strong communication is required to explain technical/Business concepts to variety of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
- Leads or participates in studies of new and existing programs and special projects to determine feasibility, resolve problems including organizational, procedural, technical, and fiscal research and analysis
- Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users
- Leads the research and investigation of business areas to define and document business requirements in standard industry Requirements Specifications formats involving Use Cases, Diagrams, and other artifacts.
- Consults with business subject matter experts to identify, define, and document business requirements and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input, and output requirements.
- Identifies opportunities for improving business processes using technology and/or through business process changes
- Document department-specific recommendations for process improvements from a process perspective
Requirements:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working as a business analyst.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience documenting/conducting process assessments and reviews.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience writing use cases or text scripts.
- Must possess a high level of communications, and client relationship skills.
- The Analyst must be able to communicate complex technical and business concepts, both to clients (internal or external) and team members, and to negotiate change.
- Must be capable of effectively identifying and framing problems, leading the collection of elements of information, and integrating this information to produce timely and thoughtful decisions.
- Must have (3) years of experience leading, training, and mentoring business analysts
- Knowledge of the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK) is considered an asset
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Commerce, or an equivalent field.
- Accreditation from a Business Analyst professional association is considered an asset
