Job description: Under the authority of the Director of Finance and Administration, the Accounting and Administration Technician is responsible for ensuring sound financial and administrative management of the organization.

Our client is a non-profit organization that has been mandated by the Government of Quebec to increase the number of clinical trials carried out by companies in Quebec, and to facilitate collaboration between the various players in the life sciences sector. life and to accelerate the development of innovative treatments.

The organization is supported by a large network of partners, including healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations and patient associations (the “Network”).

Our client develops and implements a public service of personalized support in clinical research. This service consists of offering patients, caregivers, doctors and health professionals direct and personalized support to identify clinical trials that correspond to their needs, then to synthesize this research to support discussions between the doctor and his patient. regarding participation in a clinical trial.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounting and finance

– Perform tasks for the entire accounting cycle (processing of invoices, accounts payable; invoicing of services; follow-up of payments and other banking transactions);
– Prepare and approve the bi-weekly payroll, submit to the external processing service, and prepare journal entries;
– Produce monthly bank reconciliation, trial balance and statement of project and administrative expenses;
– Prepare, have approved and submit quarterly consumption tax reports (GST/QST) ;
– Produce quarterly accounts of prepaid expenses, fixed assets; investment income, and accounts payable and accrued liabilities;
– Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in audited form, as well as an explanation of variances;
– Assist with the preparation for the annual independent audit and respond to auditor requests;
– Collaborate in the development of budgets related to grant applications and other funding and specific projects and ensure monitoring and financial reporting;
– Monitor internal controls and suggest improvements;
– Ensure the accuracy and quality of financial information;

  • Administration and governance

– Responsible for the logistics of meetings related to governance (meeting of members, Board of Directors and Board committees);
– Assist in the management of the Company’s contracts;

  • Assist in the management of activities related to information technology (IT); and
  • Performs all other tasks related to this position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (BAC) or university degree in accounting or business administration (or experience deemed equivalent);
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, ideally in a parapublic organization, an NPO or a health establishment;
  • Very good knowledge of SAGE accounting software and Microsoft Office suite software (Word, Excel [advanced], Outlook and PowerPoint).
