Part time Accounting Data Entry & File (scanning) Clerk Position – 6 month Maternity leave coverage

Our client is looking for someone to join their team to cover for a maternity leave with training starting in mid September and taking over accounts at the beginning of October.
Our client has been providing accounting and business solutions to its clientele since 1994 and has an excellent reputation for caring deeply – not only for the client – but for their employees. They offer hands on experience namely to industries like construction and real estate development, manufacturing and retail pharmacy, and provide services including controllership-for-hire roles including forecasting, support for various government registrations and audits, financing, inventory controls and purchasing and so much more. Their clients for this work have revenues that range between 1 million to 5 million. Typically, clients of this business are within a 60k radius of Paris ON.
Job Description
This position will perform data entry in an accounting environment where the candidate will be balancing entries, troubleshooting errors, entering invoices, processing vendor statements and recording daily sales from stores.
- Work in a confidential accounting environment serving a range of clients
- Ensuring appropriate turnaround time on all data entry
- Reviewing and entering data information into the appropriate client databases
- Scanning source documents to appropriate client folders in a paperless environment
- Proactively verifying data through source documents
- Monitoring and updating existing data when required
- Retrieving data for team members upon request
- Performing data searches as required
- Complying with security backups and regular checkups to ensure the safety of the data being stored
- Provide oral and/or written communications to other team members in a highly professional and
- comprehensive manner as required
- Work with other members of team
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma; preference will be given to an applicant with a post‐secondary
- diploma/degree in Business Administration
- Previous experience working as an accounting clerk or junior bookkeeper
- Accuracy with numbers and attention to detail
- Ability to work on your own as well as collaborate with other team members to meet strict deadlines
- Positive attitude with an open mind to learning new methods and processes
- Experience working with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel; proof of 50 ‐ 60 words per minute typing

- Sage 50 experience would be an asset
There is opportunity for advancement to move into a bookkeeping position with proper training and certification.
Additional Information
Initially this position will receive training at the owner’s home office in Paris then be able to work from home once comfortable. This role will require that paperwork be picked up and returned weekly from the Paris office.
Our client believes in work‐life balance, and they do not require communications with team members outside of the operational hours of 7am to 6pm, Monday to Thursday and 7am to 3pm on Friday unless it is an emergency. They allow a flexible working time within the Monday to Friday operational hours; however, they do require that employees bring your own device (BYOD) for periodic messaging at the times that they are not working during the week in order to accommodate this flexibility – they communicate with Microsoft Teams.
