Job Description
The Administrative Assistant is directly accountable to the Executive Director, Communications Services of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and provides administrative support to the Executive Director and Communications Services team. This key position supports, and contributes to, processes and practices to support the efficient operation of the Communications Services portfolio, through accurate, timely and efficient execution of administrative support functions. The incumbent works closely, in a collaborative and cooperative manner, with all members of the Senior Leadership Team, and their support staff, to assist in accomplishing the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s objectives. The incumbent will support coordination of workflow within Community Engagement and Communications, directly collaborating with administrative support in the Media Relations and Public Affairs department.

Required Qualifications
- Completion of Grade XII supplemented by a recognized business course
Experience
Three to five years of experience working in a senior administrative assistant-type role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
- Knowledge and experience in minute taking and synthesizing information
- Excellent computer skills, with a good working knowledge of various programs, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Exchange, Schedule Plus, Visio, Intranet/Internet, and the capability to learn new programs as required
- Ability to adapt to frequent change and work under pressure
- Ability to work collegially, collaboratively and build positive relationships through respectful and influential interactions
- Demonstrates a commitment to a diverse, culturally competent and culturally safe work environment and representative workforce
- Expert written and verbal communication skills including excellent proficiency in editing material for clarity, accuracy and conciseness

Additional Information
The Administrative Assistant supports activities within the department and has an in-depth understanding of communications and media relations best practices including strategic communications and web and social media communication tools. The assistant leads distribution of the department’s materials, coordinates schedules and logistics, assists in responding to inquiries, carries out special projects as assigned, and supports department budget and payroll activities while maintaining and improving administrative and departmental processes.
