Your role
Reporting to the Senior Director of Radio-Canada for Manitoba and Saskatchewan, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for the region. You must be familiar with and understand administrative policies and procedures so that you can guide managers and effectively support operations.
Your role may include, but is not exclusively limited to, the following duties and responsibilities (the position may evolve toward management support duties).
Assist with various administrative and transactional tasks for the region, including:
- HR transactions (hires, departures, redeployments, schedule changes, etc.).
- Maintaining and updating various files (employees files, leave balances, training records, probation periods, etc.).
- Talent and contributor contracts (radio, TV, digital).
- Invoice processing.
- Arranging ad hoc travel for reporters (taxi, plane and hotel bookings).
- Assisting employees with their expense claims.
- Purchasing supplies.
- Help station employees with administrative procedures.
- Provide administrative support to Manitoba and Saskatchewan managers.
- Work with the Western Canada administrative team.
- Perform, as needed, other duties related to the position of Administrative Assistant.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Community college diploma or equivalent.
- Four (4) or more years’ wide-ranging experience in an administrative support role.
- Solid command of French and good knowledge of English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfort using Google Workspace an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to act as a strategic partner: be forward-thinking by constructively sharing your thoughts and observations with your supervisor.
- Ability to resolve sensitive situations and handle material of a confidential nature.
- Ability to work with little supervision while demonstrating initiative and thoroughness.
- Ability to maintain productive professional relationships with internal and external contributors despite varying perspectives.
