This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Responsibilities
The Administration Assistant reports to the Manager, Palliative Care and Seniors’ Clinic and will provide assistance in the delivery of Palliative Care services and the Seniors’ Clinic program, while supporting the mission, vision, values and strategic directions of the health authority. You will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of the client record, receiving and tracking referrals, release of information and the archiving and retention of organizational records in accordance with records management standards. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, multi-tasking and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a post-secondary secretarial or office administration program or equivalent required.
- Minimum three (3)-five (5) years related experience in an administrative assistant position required.
- Advanced working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software, specifically Microsoft Office Products (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point) required.
- Working knowledge and proficiency with Meditech Client Registration and Community Wide Scheduling programs.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills as well as demonstrated initiative in managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent planning, organization and prioritization skills with demonstrated evidence of critical thinking, problem solving and analysis process ability.
- Experience working in a hospital or health-related environment preferred.
- Project management experience an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
