Job description: Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Patient Registration, Admitting and Information. This position serves as a front line contact for patients and families in directing them to locations throughout the facility. The Administrative Support II / Information Clerk must provide accurate detailed information to patients, families and staff in direction and location this position must adhere to high confidentiality and patient privacy standard while providing empathetic, polite and professional customer service during their interactions with patients, families and staff. The Information Clerk must have strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, demonstrate proficient verbal and written communication while answering telephones, greeting the public and directing individuals accordingly. In accordance with Health Information Act (HIA), Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) and other privacy legislation in effect the incumbent shall comply at all times with APL / AHS’s Information Privacy and Information Security policies. Presents a welcoming, helpful and positive image of Alberta Health Services and Health Information Management both on the phone and in person. Greets and assists patients and visitors in accordance with the HIM Customer Service Standards. Maintains their knowledge of building changes and locations in the facility. Ensures they are supportive to our volunteers. Has knowledge of services throughout facility. Answer telephones, greet the public and direct individuals accordingly. Assists with training and provides support for new clerks, helping them to understand the various procedures and processes within the department.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. Excellent English Verbal and written communication. Customer Service experience. Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum one (1) year experience within the last two (2) years in a health care medical office setting or in the Health Care, specifically front line. Experience in the following multi-tasking. Experience in patient/client scheduling. Experience working in busy office area.
