Job description: Your Opportunity:

South Health Campus (SHC) is looking for temporary entrance screeners to be the first point of contact at our building entrances to support the prevention of the spread of COVID-19. As an entrance screener, you will have the opportunity to use your exceptional customer services skills to communicate with and educate patients, designated support person(s) and visitors about continuous masking, physical distancing and hand sanitizing. This will assist in keeping our site safe and healthy for our patients, visitors, staff, physicians and volunteers. You will ensure all entrants perform proper hand hygiene with alcohol based hand rub or soap and water prior to entering, and assist with mask wearing and provide education on safe donning and doffing of masks. You will communicate expectations to all persons entering the site and answer questions regarding screening to ensure current site access guidance and processes are followed. You will demonstrate strong communication, professionalism, customer service and patient and family centred care skills; be self-directed and resilient; demonstrate time management, confliction resolution, and decision-making skills and foster team work and collaboration with members of the screening and interdisciplinary teams. This position may pose a risk for contact with blood and/or other body fluids. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for the entirety of your shift (up to 8 hours) which includes: mask, face shield or goggles +/- gown. You will also be required to use alcohol-based hand sanitizer frequently while on shift. There may be opportunity to pick up additional shifts to 1.0 FTE.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years experience working with the public in a customer service or support role involving daily contact with clients in the last 3 years. Strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing). Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a medical office or hospital setting in the last year. Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
