Job description: Your Opportunity:

Under general supervision/direction of the Manager, Allied Health this position provides direct clerical/unit clerk support in the RAH Rehabilitation Services Department to frontline clinical providers. The clerical support/unit clerk is responsible for building/maintaining templates for timesheets; scheduling for multiple rehab teams; processing time off requests; acquiring availability/ scheduling casual staff, etc. The clerical support/unit clerk complete various onboarding tasks for new hires. They complete payroll entering. The clerical support/unit clerk answers telephones; receives patients; creates charts; completes WCB billing; completes requests from Health Records; ensures appointments are entered/logged in the Connect Care Scheduler; pulls charts for patient’s scheduled appointments, discharges charts when appropriate. The clerical support/unit clerk is responsible for assisting with ordering department supplies/equipment within the Oracle system. They assist with maintaining/monitoring stock supply quotas. They clerk enter repair requests for equipment/building type requests in e-facilities. The successful applicant has the ability to work cooperatively with others in a positive manner, within a team environment. They utilize tact and courtesy in dealing with staff, visitors, patients and the public. They have the ability to organize work independently with own initiative and judgment, making adjustments to their work assignments, workload and time lines. They maintain confidentiality. They have the ability to perform work with frequent interruptions. The RAH Rehabilitation Services Department seeks to provide excellent patient centered care through education, mentorship and implementation of evidence and best practice strategies and every member of the team is essential in ensuring this happens.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:

Recognized Unit Clerk, medical office assistant certificate, or equivalent is required. Minimum 1-year acute care health facility medical office experience is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and Oracle is required. Knowledge of e-People timekeeping is required. Proficient knowledge of Connect Care Scheduling is required. Knowledge of hospital scheduling practices and union collective agreements is required. Demonstrated strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Preferred Qualifications:

A comprehensive understanding of Rehabilitation and Therapeutic services in both acute and outpatient settings is an asset. Reliability and accountability is essential. Must be able to embrace change. Must be motivated, self-directed, and able to prioritize competing tasks. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting. Must be flexible, able to prioritize and organize to meet the needs of a large, multi-disciplinary team.
