Job description: Your Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Business Manager, Neurosurgery, Edmonton Zone, this position provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and medical assistants in the Division of Neurosurgery. Working with individuals in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for scheduling and confirming patient clinics and assist with the follow up of physician orders by ordering diagnostic testing. This role performs an important role between patients, physicians and other multi-disciplinary team members. The incumbent must be able to work with minimal supervision, exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills while demonstrating initiative, flexibility and confidentiality at all times.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of Medical Terminology; certificate required. Strong computer skills required. Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both written and oral required. Employs effective communication skills, promoting and adhering to excellent customer service in all interactions. Must have excellent communication skills as there is a high degree of interaction with patients and a variety of disciplines at all levels of the organization. Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment, including working under pressure, adapting and responding to changing priorities and meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary education applicable to position – MOA/Unit Clerk/Admitting Clerk. A minimum of two years’ experience is preferred. Experience in a healthcare or medical office setting is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with Connect Care experience.
