Reporting to the Manager of the Eye Clinic, this position is one of a group of Administrative Support III staff that provide comprehensive support to the daily clinical activity. The incumbent will work collaboratively with a team of ophthalmologists, residents, ophthalmic personnel, nurses, medical students and community offices to ensure that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner. Duties include but will not be limited to: greeting patients, verifying patient information, scheduling of diagnostic testing and clinic appointments, ensuring patient charts are complete and filing. As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of grade 12 diploma or recognized equivalent required. A post-secondary certificate in Medical Office Administration or equivalent required. Completion of Medical Terminology course is required and demonstrated through a written test. Experience with VAX, eClinician/cadence scheduling and NetCare is required. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous ophthalmology experience in a tertiary care setting is preferred. Computer keyboarding skills, which will be demonstrated through a skills test. Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment. Have a flexible approach to work. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A strong commitment to providing Patient and Family Centered Care is essential for this position.
