Job description: Your Opportunity:
This is an Administrative Support V position within Billing Cash and Collections team. The position is a varied role providing focused accounting investigation, transaction validation in accordance with AHS policies and procedures. Problem solving and customer support skills are required when dealing with internal and external clients, and potentially difficult details surrounding each situation. The positions also provide coaching to other clerks. AS V positions may work in a single accountability or a set of accountability areas. Duties include but are not limited to assistance with: Verification of payment processing materials such as merchant accounts, training documents, and procedure guides. Ensuring custodians of point-of-sale machines are in compliance. Reconciliation of merchant fees. Administration of petty cash. Compiling reports of related-party transactions using data from various systems. Revenue Reporting. Ad-hoc reporting to management including reporting for decision-making. Recurring reporting for annual and quarterly financial reports. Payroll entry. Other tasks as needed. Coaching/training other staff, monitoring workflow and re-assigning work as needed. Supporting remote and hybrid workers as needed. This position requires physical presence at the office (Seventh Street Plaza, in downtown Edmonton) during business hours.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration). Additional Required Qualifications:
Qualifications in accounting including active enrolment in a beginner-to-intermediate level of an accredited accounting program OR 3-5 years of related accounting experience. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Demonstrated competency in use of MS Office applications especially Word and Excel, and ability to adapt to various software programs. Advanced customer support experience in an organization of significant size and complexity. Ability to meet defined deadlines. High degree of initiative, judgment, and decision-making capabilities. Ability to function with minimal direction. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to foster relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders. Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience with various levels of responsibility in an organization of significant size and complexity. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Experience coaching and mentoring team members. Preferred Qualifications:
Healthcare environment experience is an asset Preference granted to employees with additional relevant qualifications and experience for example an accounting certificate, Bachelor’s degree including relevant courses in accounting or finance, or eligibility or enrolment into the CPA designation program is an asset.
