Job title: Adult Basic Education Instructor
Job description: Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the ABE Instructor will plan organize and implement an instructional program and learning environment that guides and encourages learners to develop and fulfill their academic potential. This instructor provides instruction and learning opportunities at Grade 9 12 levels in adult basic education. The intent is to provide students with the skills and dedication needed to enter into employment or into further specific educational, technical and vocational training or self-improvement.
Education and Experience
– Bachelor of Education Degree
– Saskatchewan Teachers Certificate
– Minimum of two years of teaching experience
Duties/Responsibilities
Specific duties will include a mixture of:
– General Instruction
– Classroom Management
– Student Assessment and Needs Identification
– Resource Management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
– Knowledge of and a commitment to the goals and objectives of adult education
– Knowledge of ABE specific subject matter (Adult10, GED, Adult12)
– Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
– Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
