Job Description
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The QTS (Quantitative Technology Services) Technology Risk Team is responsible for ensuring the IT Risk posture, Cybersecurity and improving the control environment across the RBC Capital Markets (CM) platform. In this role you will be responsible to perform design and operating effectiveness reviews of the technology control environment, to ensure compliance with Enterprise policies and standards, and regulatory requirements. The role will help develop, improve, manage, and communicate the state of controls across the CM estate and ensure the group continues to be a leader across RBC.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Lead and manage a team of risk professional and dynamically adapt to a changing environment to plan, scope, and execute on controls assurance testing activities.
- Identify, test, and monitor key controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory developments, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate the annual SOC1 testing performed by external auditors to support QTS specific evidence requests. Review evidence to ensure it is appropriate to supports external auditors’ requests.
- Drive the development and standardization of Key Controls Indicators (KCIs).
- Maintain strong relationships within the Technology team, Business Continuity, Internal Audit, Operational Risk and the IT Risk Centre of Governance Functions within the bank.
- Manage programs to mitigate both operational and project delivery risks as well as provide comprehensive management reporting.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- 5 to 7 years within Information Technology Audit (Internal or External Auditor), Information Technology Risk Management, or in a regulatory capacity.
- Experience with SOC1 / SOX reviews and Controls Assurance.
- Solid knowledge of IT General Computing Controls and Application Controls.
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
- Accredited certification / designation such as CISA / CISSP / CIA / CRISC or similar.
Nice-to-have:
- A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.
- Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly traded corporation.
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.
