As Reception, you will provide reception services, administrative support, and excellent customer service to the clients, employees and community of CMHA TVAMHS.

Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within the last six months. In order to avoid delays in beginning a position, interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible.

WHAT WE’RE OFFERING:

  • What you’ll be making – $20.21 per hour
  • When you’ll work – Varying hours, may include day and evening shifts
  • What your benefits will be – you will receive 9% in lieu of health benefits
  • Your pension plan – Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
  • PSLRTA Notice – This posting characterizes this position as currently unionized under the Oxford Collective Agreement. However, please be aware that the organization on September 29, 2022, a vote was held as a result of an application by the Organization under the Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act. The result was that employees voted to award OPSEU bargaining rights for all employees. Until such time as a new collective agreement is finalized, current terms and conditions of employment and existing, applicable collective agreements, if any, will remain in force and effect.

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

  • Welcome on-site visitors, determine nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate staff or program
  • Present a positive and professional image of CMHA while communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Answer inquiries via telephone, email, mail, and in person
  • Retrieve messages from voice mail and forward to appropriate staff or program
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in coordinating registration for Community Groups and Training
  • Monitor visitor access
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions
  • Support administration and program teams through tasks including scanning, typing letters, filing, and running reports as required
  • Update appointment calendars and provide assistance to staff and leadership for bookable rooms and spaces
  • Receive payments for CMHA as required, including donations, rents, and course payments, and document using receipt book
  • Receive, sort, and route mail and packages
  • Prepare outgoing mail

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY:

Police Vulnerable Sector Check

We require the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma/certification or equivalent experience in Administration Support (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma/certificate or official transcript, for ongoing education, an unofficial transcript will be accepted)
  • Ability to deal with the public and confidential issues
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of computer and software applications
  • Excellent organizational skills with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Proven responsible clerical/secretarial experience
  • Good knowledge and usage of spelling and grammar
  • Sound knowledge of office methods and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with limited supervision in carrying out procedures and instructions
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment, i.e. photocopier, fax machine, computer, calculator
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current, clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly

We prefer the following qualifications:

  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • ASIST or safeTALK
  • Crisis Prevention Institute Non-Violent Crisis intervention training
