Job description: Bridgeway Support Services, a division of Bridgeway Family Homes, seeks highly skilled Child and Youth Care Practitioners to support families, children, and youth who are experiencing a range of social, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges through a goal-focused service in one of Bridgeway’s Specialized Foster Homes.
You are an Independent Contractor, part of a collaborative team that provides services in Foster Homes and the community.
We are looking for experienced individuals to provide services between 15 – 25 hours per week based on the client’s needs, including providing services during the week between 3:00 p.m. – and 9:00 p.m., some weekend sessions, and occasionally daytime sessions during weekdays.
Responsibilities:
- Communication with collaborative team members.
- Providing scheduled, goal-focused services to families and individuals.
- Development of goal-focused activities.
- Case notes, reports, and other administrative tasks.
- Transporting children/youth while providing services.
Qualifications:
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in a social service discipline (i.e. Child and Youth Care, Developmental Service Worker, etc.) from a recognized college or university.
- Experience providing services to children/youth and/or families with a variety of needs.
- Current Crisis Intervention Certification (i.e. UMAB) with experience in crisis de-escalation is an asset.
- Current CPR/First Aid is an asset.
- Knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and report-writing skills.
Requirements:
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (obtained from local Police).
- Current Child Welfare Record Check (obtained from local Children’s Aid Society).
- Driver’s Abstract, Class “G” Driver’s License.
- Access to an insured vehicle with $2 million liability insurance.
- Computer.
- Personal email address.
