About the role
Join the Housing Programs team in the Client Relations, Affordable Housing Programs (British Columbia, Prairies and the North) position. In this role, you will support the development and implementation of effective client relationship management and engagement strategies in your given region to promote CMHC programs, share relevant tools and resources, support capacity-building activities, identify partnerships to encourage the development of affordable housing across Canada. You will support internal business lines by collaborating on initiatives and opportunities and will share intelligence that will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.
This is a temporary position for a duration of 12 months.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the region of British Columbia, Prairies and the North. This role requires some travel (approximately once per month) within the assigned territory to participate in events, conferences, and face to face client meetings.
What you’ll do:
- Support the regionally focused strategic planning and delivery of actionable knowledge transfer activities and resources, taking into consideration CMHC’s strategic research directions, objectives and feedback received from member organizations.
- Seek solutions to complex housing-related issues/barriers, bringing in additional internal and external support as required.
- Promote CMHC programs and services utilizing a variety of delivery methods (i.e., virtual or in-person conference presentations, workshops, roundtables, etc.)
- Identifie and support the capacity building of potential leads for project development.
- Maintain a high degree of knowledge of regional housing markets and political context through reviewing research, policies and housing-related materials, collaborating with other business lines and interacting with external clients.
- Actively gather intelligence from relationships to support and influence policy and content development, business strategy and research planning.
- Understanding, influencing and/or serving people are important considerations in causing actions or acceptance by others.
What you should have:
- Post-secondary education in relevant fields such as Urban Planning, Real Estate or Housing, Social Sciences, Marketing, Business Administration, or other related fields.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in client relationship management, housing, real estate construction, mortgage and financial industry.
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and insurance for $1,000,000 public liability and property damage, as this position requires some travel within the region of British Columbia, Prairies and the North to events, conferences, and client meetings.
It would be great if you also had:
- Bilingualism (English & French) preferred.
- Experience in housing program administration, affordable housing programs, or social housing is preferred.
