Job title: Clinical and Radiation Therapy Education Coordinator

Job description: The Clinical and Radiation Therapy Education Coordinator facilitates the Radiation Therapy Students’ clinical education and evaluates the application of theoretical and practical education in the clinical setting and the clinical competence of students. The Clinical Coordinator maintains all internal student records and completes all reports required as part of the students’ records.
In addition, the Clinical and Radiation Therapy Education Coordinator plans, develops, implements and evaluates education and development programs to enhance clinical proficiency, quality improvement and team skills of Radiation Therapists in our department. Facilitates and expedites continuous learning and professional development through coaching and/or mentoring of staff and learners.
The Clinical and Radiation Therapy Education Coordinator maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Medical Radiation Sciences Program curriculum on applied physics, treatment planning, radiation biology and protection, clinical oncology, patient care and radiation therapy and applies this and clinical practice knowledge to facilitate the effective education of radiation therapy staff and students in the clinical environment.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor Degree (BSc) in Radiation Therapy
2. Current Radiation Therapist registration with the CMRTO required
3. Current OAMRT and CAMRT membership preferred
4. Minimum of five years post-graduate experience with competence in all areas of medical radiation treatment
5. Adult teaching certificate/diploma from a recognized Community College or agency an asset
6. Documented evidence of previous clinical teaching experience and/or preceptorship of staff and/or students within the last three years.
7. Demonstrated proficiency in mentoring and the development of new staff.
8. Demonstrated evidence of an ability to develop, conduct and evaluate educational programs for learners.
9. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development.
10. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
11. Excellent technical, communication, assessment, and critical analysis skills
12. Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, compassion, initiative when dealing with students, patients and families.
13. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload
14. Knowledge of computer systems and general office software
