MAJOR DUTIES:
Lead construction/demolition/modifications at all ATS Canadian facilities. As well as general maintenance duties as required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform small to mid-size construction/renovation projects directly. Obtain and manage specific trade resources as required
- Direct oversight over large construction projects, both, utilizing general contractors and acting as the general contractor by manages sub trades directly.
- Prepare budgets for construction projects as required.
- Responsible for painting areas that may require paint on an ongoing basis
- Overall trade/contractor management for projects led by facilities
- Co-ordinate any required building maintenance activities, both by in house staff or outside contractors.
- Completes other in-plant duties as required, as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
- Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods.
- Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
- Report defect in any equipment or protective device.
- Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks.
- Attend all required health, safety and environmental training.
- Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
- Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
- Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- A grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
Experience:
- Minimum ten years’ experience in construction/demolition, general carpenter skills, construction project management skills, construction budgeting and estimating.
