Our US-based client–who has a rapidly expanding portfolio of projects around the world–is looking to add a construction manager to a large scale renewable energy project. What the project will accomplish is provide solar trackers that are able to track the sun’s movement and control the solar panels to always be facing the sun at all times. Our client has won multiple solar projects in Southern Alberta and is hoping to add a who contractor would start at the Spring Coulee Solar Farm, 42 MW to work on these trackers. One of their trackers can control around 90 panels, and they will need to install 10s of 1000s of trackers. This manager would be our rep that is making sure things are being done right and answering questions or concerns about the project. Additionally, they will be the liaison between our staff in the US and the site workers. This person would provide installation and training support on the trackers, and would be responsible for all the formal side of reporting, cost control etc. so strong MS Office skills are important.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
– 5+ years construction experience
– 4+ years construction or project management
– 10+ years experience overall
– Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineer experience which could also come through trades – Electrician or millwright
– industrial construction exp (1) solar, 2) wind, 3) utility 4) power gen 5) OG
– very comfortable in MS Word, Excel, etc.
Nice to Haves:
– Solar experience
– Commissioning exp
– Exp w/ inverters, Transformers, interconnects, etc.
